AIML - Principal Software Engineer (Production Engineering), Machine Learning Platform & Infrastructure

We are seeking an expert Principal Software Engineer to join our production-infrastructure-facing distributed-systems team at Apple. This role is focused on designing, building, and growing Apple's Machine Learning platform, which enables many of Apple's signature apps and experiences. The platform impacts over a billion users and is essential to Apple's growth in AIML.

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will:

• Lead complex DevOps, SRE and production-infrastructure initiatives, developing innovative solutions
• Drive the evolution of platform architecture to support continued growth
• Develop next-generation services powering Apple Intelligence and Private Cloud OS
• Partner cross-functionally to enable new experiences in the Apple ecosystem

The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of experience building and running scalable services in public clouds, with deep expertise in:

• Containers and Kubernetes
• Machine Learning operations
• Traffic management, load-balancing, and distributed systems
• Infrastructure forecasting and capacity planning
• Security, observability, and reliability engineering
