Android Engineer - Apple Maps Developer Platform

Join Apple Maps Developer Platform team to bring the revolutionary Apple Maps experience to developers on Android. This role focuses on designing and implementing APIs and creating tools that power the developer ecosystem. As an Android Engineer, you'll work on developer-facing and cross-functional projects, crafting APIs that feel native to Android.

The team is expanding Apple Maps' capabilities to Android platforms, building upon existing success on Apple platforms and Web. You'll be instrumental in bringing these innovative features to millions of apps and websites through the Maps Developer Platform.

Key responsibilities include translating client requirements into scalable code, designing and implementing 3rd party developer APIs, and collaborating across multiple teams including Human Interaction Design, Services, and Data Engineering. The role requires expertise in Android development using Java/Kotlin, strong system architecture understanding, and experience with API design.

The ideal candidate brings 6+ years of software engineering experience, proven ability to architect and support critical software components, and excellent communication skills. Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or spatial visualization systems is a plus, as is familiarity with iOS development technologies.
