ASE -Site Reliability Engineer

Apple's Services Engineering organization (ASE) is seeking experienced distributed systems engineers to join their Coordination SRE team. The role involves developing and contributing to software built to manage Apache Zookeeper and ETCD, both open source distributed coordination and state management systems powering critical Apple internet services.

The team's work is deployed at massive scale in data-centers worldwide, forming a platform for iCloud and many other Apple internet services. Engineers will contribute to all major components of Coordination Systems deployment infrastructure, including maintenance automation, monitoring/alerting tooling, deployment architecture, and upstream database patches focused on stability, performance, and scaling.

The role requires excellent communication skills and customer focus when engaging with internal platform customers. As part of a distributed team, the ability to work effectively with remote colleagues is essential. Performance engineering is a key focus, with opportunities to collaborate across Apple to define metrics, set targets, uncover optimization opportunities, and deliver high-quality services.
