Description For ASIC Power Engineer

Apple's wireless silicon development team is seeking an experienced ASIC Power Engineer to join their growing organization. This role is crucial in developing wireless SOCs with a focus on energy efficiency and low-power design. As part of a world-class vertically integrated engineering team, you'll be at the forefront of power architecture, modeling, and correlation efforts that directly impact products used by hundreds of millions of customers.

The position involves working on complex power modeling, analysis, and correlation tasks for wireless communication SoCs. You'll be responsible for defining power-efficient SOC architectures, creating accurate power models, and ensuring optimal power performance in pre and post-silicon stages. This role combines technical expertise in ASIC design with a focus on power optimization and efficiency.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in ASIC power analysis, strong technical skills in power tools and scripting languages, and a deep understanding of SOC components. You'll work with cutting-edge wireless technologies including WIFI, BT, and UWB, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance, energy-efficient solutions.

Responsibilities For ASIC Power Engineer

  • Define power-efficient SOC architecture and schemes, write power spec
  • Estimate pre-silicon power, build wireless application and atomic power model with high accuracy
  • Define and generate power vectors with Design and DV support
  • Collect pre-silicon power data using power flow and tools
  • Analyze and identify power reductions
  • Support post-silicon power correlation

Requirements For ASIC Power Engineer

Python
  • BS and 10+ years of relevant experience
  • ASIC power knowledge
  • Power tool, e.g. PTPX and Power Artist knowledge and experience
  • Understand ASIC logic design
  • Knowledge of low power design and UPF
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Shell, Perl or Python)
  • Basic knowledge on common SOC components, e.g. CPU, fabric, peripherals and PCIe
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
