Description For ASIC Power Engineer

Apple's wireless SOC organization is seeking an ASIC Power Engineer to join their growing wireless silicon development team. This role is crucial in developing highly energy-efficient wireless communication SoCs that power Apple's innovative products. The position focuses on power modeling, analysis, and correlation tasks, working at the intersection of low-power architecture and silicon development.

As an ASIC Power Engineer, you'll be responsible for defining power-efficient SOC architectures, creating accurate power models, and ensuring optimal power performance in wireless applications. The role requires expertise in ASIC power analysis, tools like PTPX and Power Artist, and a strong understanding of SOC components.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience, strong knowledge of ASIC power design, and proficiency in scripting languages. Responsibilities For ASIC Power Engineer

  • Define power-efficient SOC architecture and schemes, write power spec
  • Estimate pre-silicon power, build wireless application and atomic power model with high accuracy
  • Define and generate power vectors with Design and DV support
  • Collect pre-silicon power data using power flow and tools
  • Analyze and identify power reductions
  • Support post-silicon power correlation

Requirements For ASIC Power Engineer

Python
  • BS and 3+ years of relevant experience
  • ASIC power knowledge
  • Power tool, e.g. PTPX and Power Artist knowledge and experience
  • Understand ASIC logic design
  • Knowledge of low power design and UPF
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Shell, Perl or Python)
  • Basic knowledge on common SOC components, e.g. CPU, fabric, peripherals and PCIe
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
