CAD Automation and ML Engineer

Apple is seeking a CAD Automation and ML Engineer to join their Hardware team in Sunnyvale. This role combines software engineering expertise with machine learning applications in circuit design automation. The position offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge processor development while applying ML and large language model technologies to optimize hardware IP development processes.

The ideal candidate will develop innovative pipelines for design engineers, enabling efficient transistor-level analysis workflows. They will work across various disciplines of silicon IP development, including ML/LLM applications for information retrieval, triage, and chatbot development, alongside traditional silicon design areas such as timing analysis, simulations, and power analysis.

This role requires strong programming skills, particularly in Python, and experience with algorithms. The position demands a collaborative mindset and hands-on approach to problem-solving. The engineer will work directly with various design teams, including Custom Digital, Analog, and Mixed-Signal, to understand and address their requirements through advanced ML techniques.

The compensation package includes a competitive base salary range of $143,100 to $264,200, plus additional benefits such as stock options, comprehensive healthcare coverage, and educational expense reimbursement.
