Description For CAD Engineer, Logic Equivalence & ECO

Apple is seeking a talented CAD Engineer specializing in Logic Equivalence & ECO to join their Hardware team in Cupertino. This role combines software development expertise with hardware design knowledge, focusing on developing and maintaining logic equivalence checking flows for next-generation Apple products.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on system-on-chip (SoC) designs, where you'll be responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing software and methodologies that design teams use to verify designs and complete ECOs. You'll be at the forefront of implementing machine learning and generative AI solutions to enhance logic equivalence flows.

Working directly with EDA vendors, you'll have the opportunity to influence tool features and own logic equivalence signoff on tape outs. The role requires a unique blend of technical skills, including experience with ASIC Design EDA Tools, programming proficiency in languages like Python and Tcl, and knowledge of hardware description languages.

Responsibilities For CAD Engineer, Logic Equivalence & ECO

  • Developing, maintaining, and enhancing CAD applications for logical equivalence
  • Supporting frontend design closure, ECO verification, and flow signoff
  • Triaging and solving CAD flow problems, and working around EDA tool problems
  • Working directly with EDA vendors to resolve tool issues and identify enhancements
  • Working directly with EDA vendors to architect new tool features and methodologies
  • Collaborating with other CAD engineers to build integrated flows
  • Using ML and GenAI based solutions to improve CAD applications

Requirements For CAD Engineer, Logic Equivalence & ECO

Python
Linux
  • Experience with ASIC Design EDA Tools, CAD flows, and/or ASIC design methodologies
  • Knowledge of Tcl, Python or Perl scripting languages
  • Knowledge of Verilog or SystemVerilog coding for hardware design or verification
  • BS and 3+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Strong proficiency in scripting languages, such as Python, Perl, and TCL
  • Comfort within Linux/Unix environments
