Description For CPU Physical Design and Integration Engineer

Imagine what you could do here. At Apple, new ideas have a way of becoming extraordinary products, services, and customer experiences very quickly. This role presents an exciting opportunity to join Apple's Hardware team as a CPU Physical Design and Integration Engineer, where you'll be at the heart of processor design efforts.

As a CPU Physical Design and Integration Engineer, you'll be responsible for the physical design, integration, and verification of high-performance, low-power processor development. You'll work on critical aspects including full chip floorplan, area optimizations, block partitioning, and pin placements. Your expertise will be crucial in chip-level place and route (PnR), final CPU layout database construction, and verification (PDV).

The role involves collaborating across multiple domains, working closely with Implementation/CAD teams throughout the chip design cycle, and partnering with the SOC team to meet IP technical requirements. You'll also contribute to establishing CAD and physical design methodologies, participate in flow development for chip integration, and create scripts to automate tasks and improve debug efficiency.

This position requires a minimum of BS degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience, with strong knowledge of industry-standard place and route tools and physical design practices. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in physical construction, integration, PDV, and DRC/LVS verification, along with experience in partitioning, budgeting, and pin planning.

At Apple, you'll be compensated with a competitive base pay range between $175,800 and $312,200, plus the opportunity to participate in Apple's discretionary stock programs. The comprehensive benefits package includes medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, education reimbursement, and access to discounted Apple products and services.

Join us in creating the next generation of groundbreaking Apple products, working with dynamic, thoughtful people and innovative technologies in an environment where your ideas can make a real impact on millions of customers worldwide.
