Description For FPGA Design Engineer (Display Silicon Digital Architect)

Apple is seeking a talented FPGA Design Engineer to join their display silicon applications team. This role focuses on developing deep understanding of performance and capabilities of custom silicon portfolio to enable new display features, capabilities and products, as well as prototypes of new display technologies.

The ideal candidate will work at the intersection of FPGA design, silicon architecture, and display technology. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new display features, working with both existing silicon and designing new FPGA prototypes. Your responsibilities will span from specifying silicon requirements and microarchitecture to supporting validation and optimization of silicon configurations.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to impact Apple's display technology future, working with cutting-edge custom silicon and FPGA platforms. You'll be part of a team that drives innovation in display features and capabilities, while working with vendors and other teams to ensure quality delivery and issue resolution.

The role requires strong technical expertise in digital architecture, RTL coding, and implementation, combined with hands-on experience in FPGA designs and applications. You'll need proficiency in scripting and automation, particularly with Python, and familiarity with serial interfaces like SPI, I2C and high-speed serdes IPs.

Responsibilities For FPGA Design Engineer (Display Silicon Digital Architect)

  • Work with multi-functional teams to converge on display silicon functionality
  • Use existing silicon and design FPGAs to prototype new display features or technology
  • Specify Silicon Requirements and microarchitecture
  • Work with vendors and other teams to deliver quality silicon and resolve any issues
  • Support validation, generate and optimize silicon configurations
  • Propose new features, capabilities, and performance requirements for new custom silicon
  • Support teams using FPGA platforms, ASICs, and models

Requirements For FPGA Design Engineer (Display Silicon Digital Architect)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering minimum with 5 years of relevant industry experience in EE, Silicon, or FPGA designs or applications
  • Experience with Digital Architecture, RTL Coding, Implementation, Verification, Debugging and Deployment
  • Experience with serial interfaces like SPI, I2C and high speed serdes IPs
  • Experience with Scripting and Automation (e.g. Python)
