Description For GPU Design Verification Engineer

Apple's Silicon Technologies group is seeking a GPU Design Verification Engineer to join their team working on next-generation, high-performance processors and system-on-chips (SoC). This role is crucial in ensuring Apple's products maintain their exceptional performance and efficiency. The position focuses on pre-silicon RTL verification of GPU sub-units, requiring deep understanding of micro-architectural details and their integration within the broader GPU design.

The ideal candidate will work closely with design leads and architects to develop comprehensive verification plans, build test environments, and ensure thorough testing of complex hardware designs. They will be responsible for creating and maintaining verification test benches, generating both directed and random tests, and analyzing coverage to improve test quality.

Responsibilities For GPU Design Verification Engineer

  • Develop verification plans in coordination with design leads and architects
  • Build and maintain portable verification test bench components and environments
  • Generate directed and constrained random tests
  • Run simulations and debug design and environment issues
  • Create functional coverage points, analyze coverage, and improve test environment
  • Create automated verification flows for block verification
  • Apply knowledge of hardware description languages to verify complex designs
  • Work with other block, subsystem and chip level engineers

Requirements For GPU Design Verification Engineer

  • Background in CPU or GPU architecture
  • Experience developing unit or cluster level test environments
  • Experience with driving bring up and debug of complex designs
  • Experience with verification languages such as SystemVerilog
  • Experience with HDL simulators and waveform viewers
  • BS + minimum of 3 years of experience
