Description For Graphics Architect, Platform Architecture

The GPU Platform Architecture Team is seeking a highly motivated engineer to drive advanced exploration for next generation GPU architectures in iPhone, iPad and Mac products.

As part of the GPU Platform Architecture team, you will work with architecture, design and software partners on the definition & tuning of Apple's future GPU Programmable Shader Core. Your role involves extending and modifying the architecture, including the instruction set for the Shader Core. You'll contribute to developing prototype software implementations for simulated future hardware, gathering data and measurements to validate concepts.

The role requires strong analytical skills and close collaboration to deliver the best overall solution to customers. You'll be at the center of a chip design effort working with all disciplines, having critical impact on getting high performance products to millions of customers quickly.

This is a highly visible position where you'll help shape the future of Apple's graphics technology across their entire product line. The work directly impacts the performance and capabilities of future Apple devices used by millions worldwide.

The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in GPU architecture along with the ability to work effectively across teams and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
