Apple's Silicon Technologies group is seeking a passionate Graphics (GPU) Architectural Modeling Engineer to join their team working on next-generation, high-performance, power-efficient processors and system-on-chip (SoC) designs. This role is crucial in developing pre-silicon functional and performance modeling of industry-leading low-power GPUs.
The position involves creating detailed models of architectural and micro-architectural aspects of various blocks and IPs in the GPU, understanding how they operate within the broader GPU design. You'll be responsible for developing architectural models for validation and verification, writing bit-accurate models for hardware/software co-validation, and creating timing-accurate models for performance validation.
As part of Apple's hardware team, you'll work closely with GPU hardware and software teams during model and design bring-up, handle regression failures debugging, and contribute to improving the modeling infrastructure. This role combines deep technical expertise in GPU architecture with strong programming skills in C++ and scripting languages.
The compensation package includes a competitive base salary range of $143,100 to $264,200, plus additional benefits such as stock options, comprehensive healthcare, retirement benefits, and education reimbursement. This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge GPU technology that powers millions of Apple devices worldwide.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in computer architecture, particularly in GPU or parallel architectures, along with expertise in performance analysis and debug. Knowledge of the GPU Graphics Pipeline and experience with HDLs (Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL) are highly valued.
