Description For Haptic Hardware Technology Development Engineer

Apple is seeking a Multi-Disciplinary Engineer to join their Haptic Engineering team, focusing on developing future generations of haptic technology and actuators. This role is central to Apple's flagship products including iPhone, Apple Watch, and Apple Pencil.

The position requires expertise in mechanical and electromagnetic design, with a strong background in mechatronics, electromechanical systems, or physics. Responsibilities For Haptic Hardware Technology Development Engineer

  • Generate concepts and solutions to multi-disciplinary haptic related challenges
  • Perform mechanical, magnetic, and electro-mechanical modeling
  • Prototype, evaluate, and debug innovative ideas
  • Design and define mechanical components and assembly schemes
  • Define detailed specifications and engineering requirements
  • Participate in development of manufacturing processes with external vendors
  • Validate and characterize designs through multiple iterations
  • Conduct failure analysis and design of experiments
  • Generate new intellectual property
  • Collaborate with design studio and system engineering groups

Requirements For Haptic Hardware Technology Development Engineer

  • Strong fundamental in mechanics
  • Experience with magnetic or motor design
  • Applied knowledge of electrical circuits, instrumentation, control, and basic programming
  • Experience using FEA (Finite Element Analysis) to guide design process
  • Experience with 3D CAD, 2D drafting, GD&T, and tolerance analysis
  • Team oriented with excellent written and verbal communication and leadership skills
  • BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience
