Description For Hardware Systems Architect

Apple is seeking an experienced Hardware Systems Architect to join their diverse team of thinkers and doers in Cupertino. This role combines technical leadership, design engineering, and systems architecture in a highly cross-functional position.

The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and guiding aspects of system electrical architecture product definition, determining how electrical design can deliver product features, and providing architectural guidance to cross-functional engineering teams. This role requires deep expertise in computer systems and product design, with a proven track record of influencing decision-makers, product features, and customer experience.

Key responsibilities include working with Mechanical, Industrial Design, and Module engineering teams to guide product system integration, building system architecture specifications, and working with Performance architects to optimize performance per watt. The role also involves leading EE system architecture phases, mentoring junior engineers, and presenting to upper management.

Responsibilities For Hardware Systems Architect

  • Work with Mechanical, Industrial Design, and Module engineering teams to guide product system integration
  • Build system architecture specifications, block diagrams, and product requirements documentation
  • Work with x-functional teams on HW/SW/MFG/ SI & PI enabling technologies
  • Work with Performance architects to define, simulate, model, and improve performance per watt
  • Analyze, guide, and support thermal management solutions
  • Lead EE system architecture phase & early design team members
  • Define, develop, or utilize tools, scripts, automation, and methods of system analysis
  • Mentor junior engineers
  • Create and present material to upper management

Requirements For Hardware Systems Architect

Python
  • BS EE w/ 8 years or MS EE w/5 years overall experience in developing consumer products
  • Analytical skills to lead team on crucial systems engineering architectural trade-offs
  • Experience creating system specification documents
  • Demonstrated innovative, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills
  • 5+ years experience in a lead system or module architecture role
