Description For Hardware Systems Engineer - Board Design

Apple's Silicon Technologies group is seeking a Hardware Systems Engineer to join their team in designing and manufacturing next-generation, high-performance processor systems. This role is part of the Silicon Validation Hardware team, where you'll be instrumental in enabling future Apple products.

The position involves working with cutting-edge technology in board design, test circuit implementation, and system-level problem solving. You'll be responsible for creating high-speed board designs that push technological boundaries, designing and implementing test and characterization circuits in the lab, and debugging complex system-level issues.

As a Hardware Systems Engineer, you'll collaborate closely with designers across multiple Apple teams, making key contributions to silicon engineering efforts. The role combines hands-on technical work with cross-functional collaboration, requiring both deep technical expertise and strong communication skills.

Key responsibilities include developing specifications based on cross-functional requirements, performing schematic capture and circuit design, FPGA development, and conducting thorough testing and debug procedures. You'll also be involved in power and signal integrity analysis and high-speed interface design.

The ideal candidate should have a BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering, with strong fundamentals in electrical engineering concepts, experience in board design, and proficiency with hardware lab equipment. Knowledge of RTL design and test automation are valuable skills for this position.

Requirements For Hardware Systems Engineer - Board Design

Linux
  • BS in Electrical, Computer or related degree program
  • Understanding of board bringup and debug strategies
  • Strong fundamentals in EE concepts
  • RTL experience using Verilog or VHDL
  • Proficiency with standard hardware lab equipment
  • Test automation expertise using Perl/Tcl/Python
