The Apple Services Engineering team (ASE) is one of the most exciting examples of Apple's long-held passion for combining art and technology. As a Service Reliability Engineer at Apple Data Platform, you will be responsible for providing the platform for mission-critical cloud systems to maintain constant uptime, scale seamlessly, and allow for new applications and services to flourish.
You will be working with a team that powers the App Store, Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and Apple Books, delivering entertainment in over 35 languages to more than 150 countries. The role requires a highly self-motivated individual with a passion for excellence, quality, and detail. You will not only support operations but also work closely with developers and architects to aid in design and implementation to improve stability, security, and scalability.
Key responsibilities include operating and monitoring production environments, automating deployments, working with multiple cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), participating in capacity planning, and implementing RESTful/RPC services. You'll be part of a team that builds secure, end-to-end solutions and develops custom software for processing creative work, provider tools, server-side systems, and APIs for many Apple services.
The position offers unique opportunities to work on large-scale systems while maintaining Apple's core values, including a deep commitment to privacy. Despite services being a bigger part of Apple's business than ever before, teams remain small and multi-functional, offering greater exposure to various opportunities within the organization.
