Description For Stability Quality Engineer

Apple is seeking a creative and motivated Stability Quality Engineer to join their Systems Quality team. This role sits at the intersection of hardware and software, focusing on ensuring world-class product quality for Apple's consumer devices.

The position involves planning, writing/developing, and running system stability tests with an emphasis on hardware-centric software risks. You'll be responsible for managing test systems, identifying and debugging issues, and working cross-functionally with engineering and QA teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing racks of systems running various tests and engineering experiments
  • Writing and running automation across multiple systems simultaneously
  • Identifying, reproducing, and isolating bugs using debugging tools
  • Providing training and mentoring team members
  • Designing automated stress and stability tests for embedded systems

Requirements For Stability Quality Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in EE, CS, CE, or equivalent degree
  • 3+ years of experience in HW/SW test engineering
  • 3+ years of consumer electronics experience
  • In-depth knowledge of processor instruction set architecture and microarchitecture
  • Strong knowledge of Unix and Unix shell scripting
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Ruby, Swift or Javascript)
  • Experience presenting data to executives
  • Strong communication and written skills
  • Ability to work in collaborative environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Hardware systems troubleshooting skills
