Description For Touch/Force Hardware - Sensor System Architect

The Sensor Architecture team at Apple is seeking a Touch/Force Hardware Sensor System Architect to join their multi-disciplinary team that develops state-of-the-art technologies and sensor modules across Apple's product portfolio, including iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, and more. This role combines hardware engineering, system architecture, and sensor technology expertise to create innovative solutions for Apple's products.

The position involves architecting entire sensor systems for various products, defining key metrics, setting specifications, and ensuring optimal customer experience. You'll be responsible for building comprehensive sensor models that capture physical, electrical, and algorithmic aspects of the signal chain, conducting first-principles physical modeling, and working closely with partner teams in display, wireless charging, and product design.

  • BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience
  • B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or Mathematics
  • Deep understanding of electrical engineering, transducer physics, and system engineering
  • Experience in modeling, building, and testing complex multi-physics systems
  • Proficiency in MATLAB and COMSOL or equivalent packages
  • Signal processing techniques, both analog and digital
  • Linear algebra, probability, and statistics
  • Circuit simulation experience
