As a Wi-Fi Software Systems Performance Engineer, you'll work on optimizing software design for Apple's latest products, including the next generation of Apple Watch, AirPods, iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
You'll be a key member of the Connectivity Firmware Performance team, working on software design, testing, and optimization from early prototypes until productization. Your responsibilities will include devising performance evaluation methodologies on SW/HW prototypes, analyzing logs, and making recommendations for implementing in software based on trade-off analysis at a system & product level.
This role requires a strong understanding of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Thread, or related protocols, as well as background or research experience in RF, Digital, and Wireless communications. You'll work with wireless sniffers and protocol analyzers to debug and root cause issues, and use Python for testing, data analysis, and visualization.
The ideal candidate will have experience with power and performance trade-off analysis, CPU profiling and optimizations, and programming in C or C++. You should be able to approach problems flexibly, adjust strategies as needed for practical solutions, focus on priorities, and drive efforts toward achieving results. A curious mindset and a desire to continually learn and improve processes are essential for this role.
