Description For Human Machine Interface Engineer

Applied Intuition, a leading vehicle intelligence company, is seeking a Human Machine Interface Engineer to join their EpiSci division in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. This role combines full-stack web development with autonomous systems control, focusing on creating sophisticated command-and-control interfaces for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of web technology and autonomous systems, developing critical interfaces that enable operators to control and monitor autonomous aircraft. You'll be working with state-of-the-art web development technologies, implementing real-time control systems for various UAV platforms, and contributing to mission-critical operations in the defense sector.

As part of the EpiSci team, you'll collaborate with autonomy engineers, government customers, and UAS vendors to build and deploy production-level software that enables human-machine teaming. The role involves working with modern web frameworks like React/Redux, implementing map-based interfaces, and ensuring seamless integration between frontend applications and backend systems.

This is an ideal position for a software engineer with a strong background in web development who is interested in applying their skills to autonomous systems and defense applications. The role offers competitive compensation ($110,000-$160,000), comprehensive benefits including health insurance and 401k matching, and the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology with real-world impact.

The position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance, reflecting the sensitive nature of the work. While primarily based in Fort Walton Beach, the role involves occasional travel (10-20%) for demonstrations and deployments, offering opportunities to see your work in action across different operational contexts.

Applied Intuition is an established company with a strong presence in the automotive and defense sectors, serving 18 of the top 20 global automakers and maintaining offices across the United States and internationally. This role offers the chance to be part of a growing team working on next-generation autonomous systems while building a career in a stable, innovative company.
