Archil is building the next generation of cloud storage, transforming how developers interact with data in the cloud. As a founding engineer, you'll be at the forefront of creating a revolutionary storage solution that combines the speed of EBS with the scalability of S3.
The role involves working across the entire stack to build Archil volumes, with significant influence over technical and product direction. You'll be responsible for building never-before-seen capabilities in storage services, designing distributed systems for atomicity and idempotency, and deploying infrastructure across different clouds.
The ideal candidate brings 3+ years of experience in distributed systems, though this is flexible. You should be comfortable with on-call responsibilities, debugging complex multi-system failures, and have deep knowledge of system performance optimization. Most importantly, you need a fundamental understanding of computer systems from hardware up.
The company is led by Hunter Leath, who brings 10 years of cloud storage expertise from Amazon EFS and Netflix. The team is fully in-person in San Francisco, focused on building the highest-performance, simplest storage product in the cloud. This is an opportunity to shape the future of cloud storage and help build the infrastructure for the next generation of AI and analytics applications.
The role offers significant technical challenges, direct customer impact, and the chance to work on fundamental infrastructure that could change how applications are built in the cloud. You'll be joining at a foundational stage where your contributions will have lasting impact on the product's architecture and the company's trajectory.
