Description For Founding Product Engineer

Artie is seeking a founding product engineer to join their small, dynamic team in San Francisco. As their third engineer, you'll play a crucial role in shaping their real-time database replication solution.

The company has already achieved significant milestones, surpassing $1M ARR within a year of launching their cloud product. They're backed by notable investors including Pathlight Ventures, General Catalyst, Benn Stancil (Mode), and Lenny Rachitsky.

The role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of distributed systems, infrastructure, and data engineering. You'll be:

  • Directly engaging with technical customers to improve product workflows and UX
  • Developing key features like column exclusion, encryption, and schema change alerts
  • Enhancing internal tooling and build automation
  • Working with a modern tech stack including TypeScript, React, Go, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and cloud infrastructure

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Strong computer science fundamentals
  • 4+ years of startup and web development experience
  • A pragmatic approach to problem-solving
  • Versatility in working across the full stack
  • Passion for building user-friendly, extensible products
  • Go proficiency (preferred but not required)

This in-person role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact at a growing startup that's solving real-time data synchronization challenges using innovative approaches like change data capture (CDC) and stream processing. The company's solution enables sub-minute latency, outperforming traditional ETL solutions that rely on batch processing.

The interview process is straightforward:

  1. Initial 30-minute call with CTO
  2. 1-hour technical phone screen
  3. Onsite interview

Join Artie to help build the future of real-time data replication and work with cutting-edge technologies in a collaborative environment.
