Asana is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join their product engineering group in New York. The role focuses on building features core to the Asana product, improving work management within and across teams. You'll help team leads and individual contributors plan and execute work, while enabling senior managers to monitor complex initiatives.
The position requires working full-stack to design, build and release new functionalities used by millions of users. You'll make consistent contributions to Asana's core product, focusing on technical challenges and modeling practices that improve quality and velocity. The role involves mentoring other engineers through activities like pairing and code reviews to promote technical excellence.
Key responsibilities include owning technical design and execution for medium/large projects, partnering with Tech Leads on technical strategy, and working cross-functionally with stakeholders to define requirements and make tradeoffs.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years experience with large codebases, 1+ years leading complex projects, and demonstrates sound judgment balancing speed with code quality. You should have experience working with PM/Design partners and care deeply about helping teams collaborate effectively.
This is an office-centric hybrid role based in NYC, with in-office days Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. The base salary ranges from $171,000 - $258,000 plus equity and comprehensive benefits including mental health support, wellness benefits, career coaching, and family-friendly policies.
