Senior Software Engineer, Product

Asana is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join their product engineering group in New York. The role focuses on building features core to the Asana product, improving work management within and across teams. The position involves helping team leads and individual contributors plan and execute their work, while enabling senior managers to monitor complex initiatives.

The Product team works end-to-end, from data model design to implementing subtle interaction behaviors. They collaborate closely with UI designers and the infrastructure team to create exceptional user experiences through both major features and smaller enhancements, enabled by continuous deployment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Full-stack development of features used by millions of users
• Contributing to Asana's core product with focus on technical challenges
• Mentoring other engineers through code reviews and pairing
• Owning technical design and execution for medium/large projects
• Driving technical strategy with the team's Tech Lead

Requirements include 5+ years experience with large codebases, 1+ years leading complex projects, strong technical judgment, and cross-functional collaboration skills. The role offers competitive compensation ($171,000-$258,000 base salary) plus equity and comprehensive benefits.
