Senior Software Engineer, Product

Asana is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join their product engineering group in New York. The role focuses on building features core to the Asana product, specifically improving work management within and across teams. The position involves helping team leads and individual contributors plan and execute their work, while enabling senior managers to monitor complex initiatives.

The Product team works end-to-end, from designing data models to implementing subtle interaction behaviors that differentiate good software from great software. Working closely with UI designers and supported by the infrastructure team, they aim to delight users through both major features and smaller daily enhancements, enabled by continuous deployment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Full-stack development to design, build and release new functionalities used by millions of users
• Making consistent contributions to Asana's core product
• Mentoring other engineers through pairing and code reviews
• Owning technical design and execution for medium/large projects
• Partnering with Tech Leads on technical strategy

Requirements include:

• 5+ years experience with large codebases
• 1+ years leading complex projects
• Strong judgment balancing speed with code quality
• Cross-functional collaboration experience
• Passion for productivity and team collaboration

The role offers competitive compensation ($171,000-$258,000 base salary) plus equity and benefits. It follows an office-centric hybrid schedule based in NYC, with standard in-office days Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
