Senior Software Engineer, Product

Asana is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join their product engineering group in New York. The role focuses on building features core to the Asana product, specifically improving work management within and across teams. The position involves helping team leads and individual contributors plan and execute their work, while also supporting senior managers in monitoring complex initiatives.

The Product team at Asana builds features end-to-end, from designing data models to implementing subtle interaction behaviors that differentiate good software from great software. Working closely with UI designers and supported by the infrastructure team, the focus is on delighting users through both major new features and smaller daily enhancements, enabled by continuous deployment architecture.

The role requires a hybrid work schedule with office-centric approach - Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday are standard in-office days, with the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Friday's remote work flexibility depends on specific work requirements and team partnerships.

Key responsibilities include full-stack development, making consistent contributions to core product functionality, mentoring other engineers, owning technical design for medium to large projects, and partnering with Tech Leads on technical strategy. The ideal candidate should have 5+ years experience with large codebases, proven project leadership, strong technical judgment, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
