Founding Design Engineer

Asteroid is building mission control for AI agents, enabling any company to easily onboard AI browser workers. They're starting by building browser agents that automate complex browser tasks like form filling and data retrieval, with a focus on reliability and security.

As a Founding Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for creating the best interface for training, managing, and collaborating with AI agents. The role focuses on building an intuitive, high-performance frontend that empowers humans to effortlessly supervise agents - a critical step in deploying AI for mission-critical applications.

The ideal candidate should have:

• Exceptional taste and passion for creating beautiful, polished user experiences
• Experience building frontend applications with high user engagement
• Ability to prioritize between perfection and quick delivery
• Strong skills in translating customer feedback into product improvements
• Experience with video-rich interfaces (preferred)
• Expertise in React and modern frontend frameworks

You'll be working on:

• Leading the design and implementation of the platform's entire frontend
• Building the agent workflow builder, interactive controls, and session recording viewer
• Establishing design systems and component libraries
• Creating intuitive interfaces for human-agent interaction
• Rapid prototyping and iteration based on customer feedback

The company is founded by David & Joe, both experienced AI engineers. David has background in robotics and space agency algorithms, while Joe has been building LLM systems since GPT-2 and created Netcraft's Scam Intelligence system. They're focused on integrating AI systems into the global economy.
