Description For Solutions Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure

Astronomer, the company behind the industry-leading Astro DataOps platform powered by Apache Airflow®, is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Solutions Engineer to join their team. This role combines technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, working with Astronomer's most strategic private-cloud customers.

The position requires a unique blend of infrastructure engineering skills and customer success capabilities. You'll be responsible for helping customers implement and optimize their Astronomer installations, focusing on Kubernetes-based deployments and ensuring optimal performance of customer environments. The role involves both technical troubleshooting and customer relationship management.

Working in a hybrid model from Hyderabad, you'll be part of a company that values diverse experiences and unconventional career paths. Responsibilities For Solutions Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure

  • Work with strategic private-cloud customers to support Astronomer Managed Airflow Software installations
  • Set up and measure monitoring & alerting metrics for customer on-prem infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues related to Kubernetes-based private-cloud offerings
  • Drive major incidents, root cause analysis, and change impact analysis
  • Develop automation scripts for environment monitoring and health checks
  • Provide technical guidance for critical infrastructure issues
  • Act as liaison between customers and Product team for feedback and improvements

Requirements For Solutions Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure

  • 2+ years hands-on Kubernetes experience
  • 3-6 years of industry experience
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture
  • Expert knowledge in Linux/Unix Operating Systems
  • Strong networking debugging skills
  • Advanced understanding of at least one Cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with customer interaction
