Description For Senior Partner Engineer II

Axon is seeking a Senior Partner Engineer II to join their Platform Firmware team, focusing on scaling Firmware Infrastructure and managing Joint Development Manufacturers (JDM) for next-generation products. This hybrid role combines firmware engineering, release management, technical project management, and DevOps engineering skills. The position is critical for Axon's 10-year mission to reduce deaths between police and public by 50%. The role involves working with APAC-based JDM vendors on two new IoT product lines, ensuring high-quality firmware artifacts, managing release calendars, and serving as a technical bridge between Axon and manufacturing partners. The position requires expertise in Embedded Linux and Android, strong technical acumen, and the ability to work across different time zones. Responsibilities For Senior Partner Engineer II

  • Manage Axon and JDM vendor relations between Firmware Engineering Teams
  • Review and audit schematics, source code and design documentation
  • Interface between Platform Firmware and adjacent Software Teams
  • Perform Engineering Verification and Profiling of JDM vendor Firmware
  • Develop Dashboards for monitoring critical Firmware Workflows
  • Write System and Firmware Requirement Documents
  • Implement and maintain Firmware Release Calendar
  • Manage CI/CD pipeline for JDM vendor Firmware Artifacts
  • Write source code for program support and fixes

Requirements For Senior Partner Engineer II

  • B.S. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 12+ years of experience taking products to GA
  • Fluency in Embedded Linux and Embedded Android platforms at BSP layers
  • Experience with C, C++, or Rust and ideally Python, Golang
  • Experience with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Cellular LTE/5G, 900MHz wireless technologies
  • Experience with complex battery powered System-on-Chip development
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Understanding of Hardware-Software Products management
  • Ability to work in APAC time-zones as needed
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills
  • Fluency in English with technical writing skills
