Senior IBM Z Operating System Engineer

Bank of America is seeking a Senior IBM Z Operating System Engineer to provide technical support for Mainframe Services z/OS Platform Engineering. This role involves participating in design, development and implementation of systems engineering activities, including operating system technical support, systems programming and data center capabilities.

The position requires a seasoned professional who will serve as a technical resource, providing expertise as both a team member and individual contributor. While there are no direct reports, the role involves influencing and directing team activities related to special initiatives or operations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Configuring SMPE and managing software installation
• Analyzing svcdump and logrec diagnostic data using Assembler Programming
• Managing zOSMF software release upgrades and maintenance workflows
• Handling IBM software issues through IBMLINK
• Developing software security using RACF
• Configuring Coupling Facility policies in SYSPLEX
• Managing server configurations and security through HMC
• Utilizing various debug tools and diagnostic data analysis
• Developing and maintaining system exits and utilities using Rexx Programming
