Backend Engineer

BlueCargo is transforming the logistics and supply chain industry as the leader in container visibility and freight audit automation. Our platform integrates fragmented data from terminals, carriers, and ports to deliver a single, intelligent interface for better decision-making.

As a Backend Engineer, you'll join a fast-growing team backed by Y Combinator (W18) that raised Series A funding in 2022. You'll work with a modern tech stack including Python/Django, AWS, and PostgreSQL, helping hundreds of active customers eliminate millions in unnecessary freight costs.

Your role involves designing core algorithms for container tracking, modeling complex financial mechanics of ocean freight, scaling our Django application, and becoming an industry expert. You'll work alongside two female YC alumni founders in a hybrid setting from our Culver City, Los Angeles HQ.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of Python/Django experience, strong database modeling skills, AWS knowledge, and a problem-solving mindset. You'll help shape our architecture, expand product capabilities, and build solutions that power global trade efficiency.
