Description For P&C Business Partner - Engineering

Bumble is seeking a flexible, culture-centric, curious, and proactive People & Culture Business Partner (HRBP) to join their growing team, focusing on partnering with Engineering teams. Based in the UK, this role offers high autonomy in solving day-to-day people and organizational challenges. The ideal candidate will work closely with employees and managers, providing advice and support as the business evolves. Key responsibilities include providing daily support to Engineering leaders, coaching employees and managers, working on strategic people-related matters, collaborating on compensation and benefits, overseeing performance management processes, and managing complex Employee Relations cases across multiple geographies. The role requires experience working with Engineering or Product Development functions in startup or scale-up environments, solid knowledge of employee relations processes and employment legislation, and a strong understanding of Bumble's unique culture and mission. The successful candidate will be highly curious, collaborative, able to deal with ambiguity, and possess strong communication skills. This position reports to the Senior People & Culture Business Partner based in London and offers an opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing, inclusive company that values diversity and equality in relationships.

Responsibilities For P&C Business Partner - Engineering

  • Provide day-to-day support to Engineering leaders
  • Provide coaching and guidance to employees and managers
  • Work on strategic people-related matters and projects
  • Collaborate with Compensation & Benefits team on compensation philosophy and decisions
  • Oversee performance management processes and initiatives
  • Partner with broader People & Culture team on people processes and systems
  • Advise on staffing strategy and hiring decisions
  • Develop and drive succession and talent planning efforts
  • Manage complex Employee Relations cases across multiple geographies

Requirements For P&C Business Partner - Engineering

  • Experience working closely with Engineering or Product Development function in startup or scale-up environments
  • Solid knowledge of employee relations processes and relevant employment legislation
  • Experience managing and closing complex Employee Relations cases independently
  • Ability to work closely with business leaders as a strategic thought partner
  • Proficiency in working with data and spreadsheets including pivot tables, lookups, etc
  • Strong understanding of and passion for Bumble's unique culture and mission
  • Highly curious and collaborative approach
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, tight timelines, and multiple competing priorities
  • Global mindset and willingness to work across international time zones
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Generalist background/ People Ops experience (ideally)
