Description For Senior FPGA Engineer II

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior FPGA Engineer II to join their team. The role involves developing leading-edge hardware for satellites, spacecraft, and aerospace systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for FPGA circuits and systems through all phases of the development process, including design, verification, test, and deployment at the HDL level. Key responsibilities include working with high-speed serial interfaces, digital processing cores, multiple clock domains, and management interfaces. The role also involves testing, validation, and verification of FPGA designs. Experience in digital signal processing or board-level hardware design is desirable. The position requires presenting engineering design review materials to customers and the executive team, as well as participating in proposal-writing efforts. Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • 6 years of industry or university research experience in FPGA systems design
  • Expertise in FPGA design and verification (Verilog/VHDL, HDL coder, Xilinx's Vivado, Modelsim, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with lab instruments (digital oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, vector signal analyzers)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Experience:

  • Aerospace design and qualification
  • Worst-case analysis, failure method and criticality analyses, and reliability analysis
  • Board-level hardware design experience
  • Familiarity with communications systems and digital signal processing
