Description For Software Engineer, Data

The Data engineering team at Chime is building a scalable data platform to cater to the data plumbing needs of the company. As a core member of the team, you'll have the opportunity to build scalable data pipelines and frameworks, and architect workflows that could become de facto standards for the fintech industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Build, scale, and optimize ETL pipelines
  • Design data warehouse schemas and scale data warehouse processes for 10x data growth
  • Own all aspects of data - quality, governance, design, security
  • Manage schema registry and dependency chart for persistent data
  • Own ETL workflows and ensure pipeline meets data quality and availability requirements
  • Work closely with Data Science, Analytics, and DevOps teams

Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience transforming data to governed datasets
  • 3+ years hands-on experience building and deploying production-quality data pipelines
  • 3+ years experience working with stakeholders to provide business insights
  • 3+ years experience writing Spark, AWS Glue, EMR, Airflow, Python
  • 1+ years hands-on experience using MPP database systems like Snowflake, AWS Redshift, or Teradata
  • Track record of successful partnerships with Analytics, Data Science, and DevOps teams
  • Understanding of key metrics for data pipelines
