Cisco is seeking a Technical Lead DevOps Engineer to join their Secure Common Services Engineering team, focusing on cybersecurity and innovative engineering solutions. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering work in a cloud-first environment.

The position involves leading a DevOps/SRE team responsible for managing and scaling cloud services that handle millions of requests per second. You'll work in AWS GovCloud/FedRAMP environments, requiring deep expertise in cloud architecture, security compliance, and automated deployment systems.

Key responsibilities include managing cloud infrastructure across multiple regions, implementing security controls for SOC2 and ISO 27001 compliance, and providing technical leadership to the engineering team. You'll work with various technologies including AWS services, containerization tools, and monitoring solutions like Datadog and Prometheus.

The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of DevOps/SRE experience, strong cloud platform knowledge (particularly AWS), and expertise in Linux environments. Technical skills should span infrastructure automation, containerization, and modern DevOps tools. Leadership experience and the ability to guide technical teams are essential.

Responsibilities For Dev Ops Engineer

  • Lead DevOps/SRE team in maintaining cloud offerings/services in multiple regions
  • Manage and maintain services in AWS GovCloud/FedRAMP environments
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical leaders across teams
  • Provide technical guidance and support to DevOps and software engineers
  • Manage automated and continuously deployed systems in the Cloud
  • Oversee cybersecurity compliance for SOC2 and ISO 27001
  • Support CI/CD pipelines with GIT, Docker, Terraform, Ansible and Jenkins
  • Take on Agile Scrum master role
  • Work with Product and Engineering Management to identify goals and milestones

  • 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, Operations, Software Development and/or Automation role
  • Experience working with public cloud such as AWS, GCP, Azure and/or IaaS/SaaS
  • Understanding of AWS services like EKS, EC2, S3, SNS, SQS, Lambda, ECS, RDS, SQL
  • Experience in Linux (or Unix) based environment
  • Knowledge of Monitoring and Observability tools such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK stack, Pagerduty
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related STEM field preferred
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee)
