Founding Software Engineer (Backend)

Clinikally is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and architect new AI products for their telemedicine platform. This is a founding role with extensive cross-functional responsibilities spanning growth, operations, and product development.

The primary focus will be developing a highly scalable real-time voice AI platform that handles speech processing, conversational AI, and automated call handling for customer support and teleconsult systems. The platform utilizes FastAPI and WebSockets within a Kubernetes environment, following event-driven architecture principles.

Key responsibilities include:

• Architecting a real-time voice AI platform using FastAPI, WebSockets, and Kubernetes
• Designing scalable voice processing pipelines for speech-to-text and text-to-speech
• Implementing high-performance event-driven architectures
• Managing infrastructure scaling and system observability

Technical requirements:

• 4+ years of Python backend engineering experience
• Expertise in FastAPI, WebSockets, and event-driven systems
• Strong async programming and Python concurrency skills
• Proficiency with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud deployments
• Experience with speech processing and conversational AI
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL, Redis, and scalable solutions
• Performance optimization capabilities
