Staff Software Engineer, Backend (Platform - CETI)

Coinbase is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their Platform Product Group's Consumer Engineering Test Infrastructure team. This role is crucial in driving automation and establishing a robust testing culture within the Consumer organization. The position offers an opportunity to build the team from the ground up and lead technical strategy.

The Platform Product Group's mission is to build a trusted, scalable, and compliant platform to maximize velocity, efficiency and quality. They create foundations used across multiple products and teams at Coinbase to ensure consistent, high-quality user experiences.

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will:

• Set technical strategy and roadmap for test automation
• Evaluate and implement automated testing infrastructure
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers
• Define testing best practices and drive cultural change
• Partner with stakeholders and align on outcomes
• Ensure comprehensive test coverage across functional, integration, performance, and security testing
• Develop insights and drive best practices for testing and defect management

The ideal candidate should have 8+ years of experience in software engineering, shipping large-scale products, and a passion for development excellence. Experience with crypto and blockchain technology is a plus.
