Description For Customer Engineer

The position offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge fintech companies, helping them implement solutions using Column's APIs and data model. This role goes beyond traditional customer engineering, requiring deep technical understanding and the ability to contribute to product development and internal tooling.

Working from Column's Presidio-based office in San Francisco (4 days in-person/week), you'll collaborate across engineering, business, operations, finance, and compliance teams. The role demands both technical aptitude and excellent communication skills, as you'll be supporting customer implementations while helping drive payment volume through Column.

What makes this role special is its cross-functional nature and the absence of traditional product managers. You'll have the opportunity to influence product development by gathering feedback, identifying gaps, and supporting requirement documentation. The position requires 3+ years of technical experience and offers significant growth potential.

Column provides an exceptional benefits package, including fully covered health insurance for employees and dependents, generous parental leave, fertility benefits, and various lifestyle perks. The compensation package ranges from $125,000 to $160,000 plus equity, reflecting Column's commitment to attracting top talent.

The company's mission to simplify the banking supply chain for fintech innovators makes this an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about financial technology and customer success. You'll be joining a team that values diversity of thought and experience, working to transform how financial technology companies interact with banking infrastructure.

If you're someone who combines technical skills with strong customer-facing abilities and has an interest in fintech, this role offers the perfect blend of technical challenge and business impact.
