Demo Software Engineer

As a Demo Software Engineer at Contentful, you will be responsible for developing digital applications showcasing the use of Contentful within well-established categories and emerging areas. You'll be the first to see new product features and play a critical role in bringing them to market by building demos for product launches, analyst calls, and annual customer conferences. In the off-season, you'll help users get the most out of the product by developing how-to guides, tutorials, and conducting workshops.

This hands-on position requires solid development skills and experience in shipping successful digital applications. You'll create things from scratch, craft delightful interaction loops, and work on a wide range of tasks including frontend, backend, QA, and devops. The role involves working with a modern technology stack and having a say in deciding tools and architectural patterns.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting popular customer use cases and enabling integrations with leading cloud providers, AI services, and SaaS vendors
• Prototyping solutions for high-value technical problems
• Mastering technical topics related to the Contentful platform
• Developing expertise in Contentful's APIs, CLI, webhooks, design systems, and internal systems
• Leveraging devops infrastructure and AI tools to automate tasks and support workflows
• Collaborating with various teams to create polished demo sites and apps
• Providing product feedback and coaching junior engineers

The ideal candidate will have:

• 6+ years of software development or systems engineering experience
• Strong technical experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React
• Solid understanding of modern frontend frameworks
• Extensive experience working with APIs (including GraphQL)
• Understanding of CI/CD workflows and devops best practices
• Ability to identify and prioritize high-impact problems
• Good communication skills and ability to present complex technical concepts

Contentful offers a range of benefits including stock options, fertility and family building benefits, paid time off, education budget, wellbeing stipend, and more. The salary range for this position in Colorado is $144,000 - $157,000.
