Test Engineer - Contract Role

CrossFit is seeking a Test Engineer for a one-year contract to join their technology department. This role is vital in enhancing product quality and reliability. The Test Engineer will work closely with product and development teams to understand testing requirements, create test plans and cases, and determine the optimal balance between automated and manual testing approaches.

The primary objective is to expand CrossFit's test automation capabilities. In the interim, the engineer will assist in executing test plans, documenting bug reports, and ensuring confidence in the code released by the teams. This role involves substantial hands-on contribution in designing, developing, and maintaining automation scripts and processes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Defining and implementing test automation tools and strategies
• Participating as an integral member of an agile software development team
• Assisting in defining and setting up testing environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Elevating the overall team by promoting sound development practices
• Maintaining standards for application testing, issue tracking, and reporting

The ideal candidate should have:

• 5+ years of experience in testing, including both manual and automated tests
• Proficiency with open-source automation tools (e.g., Robot Framework, Playwright, Appium, Cypress, Selenium)
• Ability to read software design and code efficiently
• Proficiency in writing automation code in Python and/or JavaScript
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication skills
• BS degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
• Experience integrating automated testing frameworks into CI/CD pipelines
• Experience in test automation for web front-ends, mobile apps, and REST services
