Founding Engineer, Full Stack

Dili (YC S23) is seeking a driven founding engineer to be our first hire. As a founding engineer, you will work with us to develop the next generation of our product and play a critical role in defining our engineering culture.

About Us We're a YC-backed startup simplifying compliance for clean energy projects. Our platform streamlines prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements, helping clients maximize tax incentives and accelerate sustainable energy adoption.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement websockets and SSEs to build real-time beautiful UX for customers
• Plot trends, surface insights, and implement advanced search and filtering
• Refine document processing pipeline using LLMs to extract data
• Improve extraction speed and accuracy using VRDU research
• Build specialized agents to derive key metrics from data
• Fine tune open-source models for task specialization
• Create seamless integrations with existing customer systems
• Implement best practices for LLM deployment and performance evaluation

Tech Stack:

• Django, NextJS, AWS, Postgres, Langchain, Docker, Terraform

Requirements:

• Strong computer science fundamentals
• Ability to take ownership and work through ambiguity
• Previous early-stage startup experience
• Up-to-date knowledge of LLM best practices
• 6+ years of experience

Bonus Skills:

• Experience building data processing pipelines
• Experience with real-time applications

Work Style: Hybrid work model with 2 days per week in office at Union Square, New York location. Looking for candidates who appreciate the balance of remote and in-person collaboration.
