Description For Lead Software Engineer - Front End/Roku

As a Lead Software Engineer for the Roku Client Application team, you'll be part of the team building Direct-to-Consumer client apps such as Disney+, Star+, ESPN and Hulu on Roku streaming devices and smart TVs.

The position involves working with BrightScript and the Roku SceneGraph SDK to create exceptional viewing experiences.

  • Building client app experiences using BrightScript and Roku SceneGraph SDK
  • Developing new application features from onboarding to browse UI/UX experiences
  • Contributing to tools and systems development outside of Roku apps
  • Collaborating with various engineering teams and product owners
  • Working with Roku on hardware, firmware, and certification requirements

The ideal candidate should have:

  • 7+ years of client-side development experience
  • Strong background in MVVM architecture
  • Experience with UI/UX development
  • Ability to mentor junior team members
  • BS in Computer Science or related field

Responsibilities For Lead Software Engineer - Front End/Roku

  • Be a critical member of a team building client app experiences in BrightScript using Roku SceneGraph SDK
  • Contribute to development of new application features from on-boarding to browse UI/UX experiences
  • Contribute to development of tools and systems outside of Roku apps
  • Work with Roku to vet new hardware, firmware and certification requirements
  • Collaborate with client SDK engineering, design engineering, services engineering teams and product owners

Requirements For Lead Software Engineer - Front End/Roku

  • Proficient in technical design and development of generalized solutions

  • Experience mentoring junior level team members
