Description For Senior Ride Project Engineer

Walt Disney Imagineering is seeking a Senior Ride Project Engineer to lead the development and delivery of innovative ride systems for their world-renowned theme parks and attractions. This role combines technical leadership with creative collaboration, focusing on developing cutting-edge ride experiences that meet both safety requirements and creative vision.

As a Senior Ride Project Engineer, you'll be responsible for leading a Ride Engineering team through all phases of ride system development - from concept through testing and handover. You'll work directly with Creative directors to transform high-level experience concepts into technical requirements while ensuring compliance with Disney's rigorous safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of engineering experience with a proven track record of leading technical teams through complex project delivery. You should be comfortable working in dynamic environments where requirements evolve frequently and have strong skills in both technical design and project management.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Leading "clean sheet" concept design of innovative new ride systems
  • Managing vendor relationships and contracts
  • Conducting technical design reviews and safety analyses
  • Overseeing installation and testing of ride systems
  • Collaborating with creative, operations, and maintenance partners

Requirements For Senior Ride Project Engineer

Linux
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in an engineering field
  • Five or more years of engineering professional experience
  • Experience as the leader of a technical team
  • Strong project management and vendor management skills
  • Experience with life safety design/requirements
  • Hands-on experience with equipment mockups, prototypes, fabrication
  • Strong knowledge of relevant Ride Engineering standards
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
