Senior Software Engineer - Front End

Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Living Room Devices, Browser Based Device, Client Application Engineering Team. As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you'll be responsible for building Direct-to-Consumer client apps like Disney+, Star+, ESPN and Hulu for browser and TV-based devices. You'll work with cutting-edge JavaScript and TypeScript technologies to create engaging streaming experiences that delight users worldwide.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of frontend development experience, with deep expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and React/Preact. You'll collaborate closely with UX designers, product managers, and engineering leadership to prototype and implement scalable media applications for platforms like Samsung and LG TVs.

Key responsibilities include:

• Building sophisticated user interfaces using TypeScript, JavaScript, and modern web technologies
• Collaborating on large-scale media applications for streaming devices
• Mentoring junior engineers and driving technical solutions
• Using data and experimentation to optimize viewer experiences
• Working with cross-functional teams to deliver world-class streaming products

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years frontend development experience
• Expert knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience with React/Preact and Redux
• Strong computer science fundamentals
• Track record building complex UIs
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
