Description For Senior Software Engineer - Full-Stack, React

Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology is at the forefront of reimagining magical viewing experiences for the world's most beloved stories while transforming Disney's media business for the future. The Commerce, Growth, & Identity (CGI) team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Fraud team. This role focuses on mitigating risk by building solutions to identify, prevent and catch payment fraud and contribute to the expansion of their risk platform.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be working on building services powered by machine learning, various third-party services, and global data sets. This highly multi-functional role provides opportunities to work with Product, Information Security, Data, Analytics, Business Operations, Finance, and various other functions across the company.

The position involves designing and implementing tier-1 microservices, working with cloud technologies, and participating in the full software development lifecycle. You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality, scalable solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role offers competitive compensation ranging from $138,900 to $203,900 depending on location, plus benefits including medical coverage and potential bonus/long-term incentives. You'll be part of Disney's larger mission to create world-class stories and experiences for every family member globally.

Responsibilities For Senior Software Engineer - Full-Stack, React

  • Design and implement tier-1 microservices in Java and/or Scala
  • Implement asynchronous processes to run in the cloud for various data transformation operations
  • Work on tech design for various initiatives and projects as per business needs
  • Be involved in code reviews and architecture reviews for team members
  • Participate in Agile methodology and SCRUM processes
  • Provide on-call support for critical services on a rotational basis
  • Own features/functionality and deliver projects end-to-end
  • Communicate and work with multi-functional business partners
