Sr Principal Software Engineer

The Commerce, Growth & Identity (CGI) team focuses on creating seamless user experiences and building innovative capabilities to drive subscriptions and engagement across Disney's streaming platforms.

As a Sr Principal Software Engineer in Identity Engineering, you'll be responsible for:

• Setting technical and architectural direction across the organization
• Identifying and introducing best practices
• Providing subject matter expertise to accelerate project delivery
• Collaborating with peers in Identity Engineering architecture
• Partnering with engineering and product leaders

The role involves working with Consumer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) capabilities across The Walt Disney Company, including Disney+, ESPN, Hulu, Parks, and Cruises. You'll be building and running high-traffic, globally replicated systems that are integral to every user's journey.

Key responsibilities include:

• Defining best practices for microservices and lambdas in multi-region cloud environments
• Promoting Open Standards for Identity management
• Providing technical guidance to engineering teams
• Collaborating with stakeholders on requirements and solutions

The position requires:

• 12+ years of relevant experience
• Expertise in JVM languages (Java, Scala, or Kotlin)
• Cloud provider experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Knowledge of data processing tools (Spark, Hive, or Presto)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
