Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Core Data & Services team within the DEET organization. As a member of the Core Data team, you'll help build out the code base that powers foundational datasets and data pipelines. You'll work on building and refining shared Scala libraries to enable efficient reusable components used across multiple deployments and produce foundational data for their streaming business.
The code that powers the foundational data pipelines and datasets is vital to the business's success – enabling dozens of engineering and analytical teams to unlock the power of data to drive key business decisions. The role involves expanding, scaling, and standardizing core foundational principles through consistent coding best practices, observability, lineage, data quality, logging, and alerting across all engineering teams.
The tech stack includes Airflow, Spark, Databricks, Delta Lake, Snowflake, Scala, and Python. You'll be working in a collaborative environment, participating in agile/scrum ceremonies, and engaging directly with customers to understand and prioritize platform improvements.
