Staff Software Engineer

Elayne is redefining estate management with AI-powered solutions that simplify planning, execution, and net worth optimization. We're looking for a Staff Engineer with a strong architectural mindset and deep experience in full-stack development and DevOps. In this role, you'll be a key technical leader, designing scalable solutions, driving best practices, and ensuring the reliability of our infrastructure.

This position combines technical leadership with hands-on development, breaking down as:

• 30% Architecture & Technical Leadership (designing scalable solutions, mentoring, best practices)
• 50% Full Stack Development (React, Node.js, API design, and architecture)
• 20% DevOps (infrastructure, automation, security, and deployment)

You'll be working on building the "TurboTax for Death" - a modern solution using automation, AI, and fintech to bring clarity and ease to one of life's toughest moments. The role involves tackling complex challenges in estate settlement, where currently people spend 400 hours on forms, calls, and coordination.

The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, moves fast, and enjoys shaping both product and engineering strategy in a lean, high-performance culture.
