EMW, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Assurance Tools Section within the Assurance Solutions Branch. This role focuses on developing and supporting tools for the assurance and validation of Communication Information Systems (CIS) readiness in NATO Command Structure. The position requires expertise in C#, .NET Core, and various Microsoft technologies, with a strong emphasis on building secure, modular applications. This is a contract position running from July 2025 to December 2025, requiring NATO SECRET clearance and full-time on-site presence in The Hague. The role offers an opportunity to work on critical systems supporting NATO-led missions and exercises, while mentoring junior developers and contributing to architectural decisions.
Responsibilities For Senior Software Engineer (Issue Tracker)
- Contribute to the Interoperability Toolset development
- Develop technical specifications and solution architectures
- Write clean, modular, secure and testable code
- Review and refactor existing code towards a common agreed solution architecture
- Adapt to agreed team software engineering practices
- Coach and support junior developers
- Support the software in operational environments where needed
Requirements For Senior Software Engineer (Issue Tracker)
- Currently active NATO SECRET security clearance
- 8+ years of experience with developing complex web-based applications using C# with ASP.NET MVC or .NET Core
- Deep understanding of C#
- Deep understanding of .NET 6 or later
- Deep understanding of EF6 or EF Core
- Solid experience with Blazor
- Solid experience with infrastructure concerns such as message bus-, queue-, remoting-, Web API technology
- Experience with authentication and authorization flows, OAuth and OIDC
- Experience with security and secure coding principles
- Solid experience with concepts such as SOLID, DDD, CQRS, Eventing
- Solid experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2019 or later
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with working in a team of 5+ developers and testers
- Experience with coaching junior developers
