Description For Software Engineer I-III

Everlaw is seeking Software Engineers at various experience levels to join their team in Oakland. The role focuses on building and maintaining their ediscovery platform, which helps legal professionals analyze millions of documents. Engineers will work across the full stack using technologies like Java, React, and MySQL/Postgres, with opportunities to explore search, databases, data visualization, distributed systems, and machine learning.

The position offers significant autonomy, allowing engineers to own features from inception to release while working in a collaborative environment. Engineers will participate in both feature development and operational support, including on-call rotations.

Responsibilities For Software Engineer I-III

  • Own features from inception to release as the sole contributor
  • Work on core ediscovery platform features (Document Upload, Organization, Search, Filtering, Review, Export)
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, Engineering Operations, Security Engineering, and DevOps teams
  • Fix defects in the product
  • Provide on-call support for the product
  • Contribute to internal engineering documentation
  • Become product certified through training modules

Requirements For Software Engineer I-III

React
TypeScript
MySQL
PostgreSQL
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Computer Information Systems or equivalent coursework
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Good knowledge of algorithms and fundamental computer science concepts
  • Experience and proficiency in coding in a dominant language such as C++, Java, Python, or Javascript
  • Experience building small software projects (for SWE I)
  • Full-time experience working as a Software Engineer (for SWE II or higher)
